A few months back, Elizabeth and I decided to run the Chicago Marathon (Oct 7th), so we went to the web to find a handy little training schedule. Hal Higdon (marathon guru) has some nice FREE advice as his site, so we downloaded a schedule. We are half-way through the training (we ran 15 miles yesterday) and so far, so good.
It does kind of suck running all of the time, however, as a reward, we can pretty much eat or drink anything that we want, as we burn it right off. Running double-digit mileage after a night of boozing, however, is not recommended.

Benton Park
Some of you may be wondering why my blog is called "Benton Park Ramblings". I currently live in a nice little neighborhood called Lafayette square. As the housing market in Lafayette square is out of control, and our current condo's space limitation is becoming a strain on my marriage, Elizabeth and I have decided to move. We are moving (on Feb 1st) to another neighborhood in the city of St. Louis (aka US's most dangerous city) called Benton Park (see picture in sidebar).
The house is 115 years old, but was fully rehabbed 3 years ago (I am not as ambitious as Randy). As I like to measure distances in terms of golf shots, I would say that it is about 10 solid tee shots away from our old place. It is roughly a par5 away from the AB Brewery [smells like beer all summer long :) ], and about an chipping iron shot away from my favorite bar in St. Louis [they have a sand volleyball court open for bar patron use]. Also it is within a par4 of several major highways (easy access) and many restaurants.
All are welcome to visit anytime!

Blogging
I have decided to start a blog. If I were a bit younger, I suppose that I would just start a myspace account or something, but as I am older than 17, I will stick with the traditional blog. My aim is to make my blog half as enjoyable to read as my friends' (Alex & Randy) blogs, but I will consider it a success anyway if it allows me to waste time at work.
Note, please, that I am not tech savvy, and as such, my blog will not include the bells and whistles to which many are accustomed. I will try to post pictures when available...
